A longer walk that treats hikers to forests, cliffs and panoramic coastal views.

Starting from the Martin Point carpark, this long but fairly flat trail makes its way through the wilderness to Perpendicular Wall on the north-west coast of the island.

Along the way, you’ll pass through terrace forests teeming with red crabs and seabirds, including the magnificent frigatebird. You’ll also be dwarfed by inland cliffs and the spectacular scenery of the Christmas Island coastline.

Perpendicular Wall is a well-known dive site, but the scenery above sea level is just as impressive – you’ll be rewarded with jaw-dropping vistas of the north coast’s forested cliffs.

This is a long and sometimes challenging walk, so be sure to take plenty of food and water with you.
